The Don Pedro Island State Recreation Area is a state park in Florida, United States. It is situated on a section of Don Pedro Island, a 129-acre barrier island nestled between Palm Island and Little Gasparilla Island across the Intracoastal Waterway from Placida in Charlotte County.
Don Pedro Island, located between Knight and Little Gasparilla Islands, is only accessible by own boat or ferry. On the island's mangrove-lined bay side, boaters can dock at the dock.
The only way to get to the island with your car is to take the Car Ferry. It takes around three minutes to cross the intercoastal waterway. You can drive, stroll, ride your bike, or bring your golf cart.
The island is home to Don Pedro Island State Park. The island is not accessible via bridge. Only by boat or car ferry is it accessible. There are several private residences on the island, and the Palm Island Resort occupies a large portion of it.
