Lemon Bay is a long, thin, and shallow body of water that spans 8,000 acres in Charlotte and Sarasota counties in Florida. The Lemon Bay Aquatic Preserve was established in 1986 to conserve the area. It is one of five Aquatic Preserves in Charlotte Harbor.

Lemon Bay Park in Englewood is a 210-acre nature-based park with 1.7 miles of shoreline along the magnificent Lemon Bay Aquatic Preserve. In a terrific place to meet and interact, enjoy a piece of natural Florida while learning about the environment.
Grove City was already up and running, and an unnamed bay was dubbed "Lemon Bay" since it was assumed that producing lemons in Florida would make easy money. The Nichols brothers reasoned that they might profit on the lemon craze by selling building lots that included an additional 10 acres of lemon-growing land.
